Description

The temple, at a height of 3,583 m (11,755 ft), 223 km from Rishikesh, on the shores of Mandakini river, a tributary of Ganga, is a stone edifice of unknown date.[7] It is not certain who built the original Kedarnath temple and when. The name "Kedarnath" means "the lord of the field": it derives from the Sanskrit words kedara ("field") and natha ("lord"). The text Kashi Kedara Mahatmya states that it is so called because "the crop of liberation" grows here.[8] According to a theological account, the god Shiva agreed to dwell here at the request of Nara-Narayana.[8] After the Kurukshetra War, the Pandava brothers, came here to meet Shiva on the advice of the sage Vyasa, because they wanted to seek forgiveness for killing their kin during the war. However, Shiva did not want to forgive them: so, he turned into a bull and hid among the cattle on the hill. Tour Itinerary

    Day 1 : Arrive at Haridwar

    Today, as you arrive at Haridwar, our driver will pick you up and take you to your hotel. You can do various things in Haridwar like take part in havan and Yagya, Sadhu Sewa.You can also visit Chilla Forest Range and Vindhyavasini Forest Range. Since the day is at leisure, these are all optional activities. In the evening, you will go to attend the Ganga Aarti at the very famous Har Ki Pauri (own expense). At night, you will come back to your hotel for a comfortable stay.

    Day 2 : Haridwar to Guptkashi

    On 2nd Day, we start our Kedarnath yatra early morning from Haridwar. Our driver picks up you from Haridwar hotel and proceed to Guptkashi. Evening we arrive at Guptkashi and check in the hotel. Rest of the day free to explore the Guptkashi town. Back to hotel and have a dinner and good night of the day.

    Day 3 : Kedarnath Baba Darshan

    On the 3rd day of the yatra, you are taking a holy darshan of Baba Kedarnath. As you wake up early morning and enjoy at tasty breakfast at the hotel, now you will get ready to proceed to Kedarnath. You will hop in a car to get to Kedarnath today via Gauri kundand then join other pilgrims for the famous 16km trekking to Kedarnath. You will then go for worship at the majestic Kedarnath temple, take part in all religious activities there, and later then trek back to Gaurikund.Our driver is waiting there he is received you drive back to Guptkashi hotel rest of the day in the hotel room. Enjoy your dinner and a good night of the day.

    Day 4 : Departure

    This is the last day of the yatra, the day will start as you get up and enjoying a hot breakfast at the hotel. After that, you will pack up your bags and then get ready to checkout. Now you will be driven back to the Haridwar and drop you at Haridwar railway station for your further way back home.
