Description

Nagaland is a mountainous state in northeast India, bordering Myanmar. It's home to diverse indigenous tribes, with festivals and markets celebrating the different tribes' culture. Its capital city of Kohima suffered heavy fighting in World War II, commemorated by memorials at the Kohima War Cemetery. The Nagaland State Museum exhibits ancient weaponry, a ceremonial drum and other traditional Naga cultural artifacts.

Tour Itinerary

    Day 1 : Guwahati- Kaziranga

    Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Station. Leave for Kaziranga National Park. On the way Jeep Safari at Burhapahar range, after that check Inn at the Guest House. Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 2 : Kaziranga - Kohima

    Early morning, after breakfast check-out and drive to Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. Drive through the plains and tea-gardens of Assam to finally reach the beautiful capital city of Kohima, spread across multiple hills. After that again we start our journey to our Hornbill Festival Campsite. Late evening check into our Campsite at Kisama Village which is 10 mints walking distance of the festival venue. Dinner and overnight stay.

    Day 3 : Kohima

    After breakfast, leave for day sightseeing of Kohima. Attend the colourful ceremony of the Hornbill Festival at the Kisama Heritage Village festival grounds. Full day explore the local tribal culture, tradition, local cuisine and the tribes various own dance forms. Evening you can enjoy a bonfire session in our Campsite.

    Day 4 : Kohima

    After breakfast, head to the Kisama Heritage Village festival ground and enjoy the festivities of the Hornbill Festival. Gawk at the jaw-dropping performances and enactments of the tribal ways of life of the Nagas of the yesteryears and stuff yourself with delicious Naga food till you can take no more. In the evening, visit the iconic Kohima cathedral and enjoy the view of the city from there. Back to campsite and overnight stay.

    Day 5 : Kisama – Khonoma - Kisama

    Before heading to the historic village of Khonoma, also known as Asia's first green village, we visit to take a guided tour of the beautiful Khonoma village and get to know about the local way of life there. Khonoma will be by far the loveliest village you would have ever seen. Evening visit to Hornbill Festival for Cultural Show.

    Day 6 : Kohima - Kaziranga

    Early morning after breakfast, check-out and drive to Kaziranga National Park. On arrival check into our Guest House. Late evening free for leisure.

    Day 7 : Departure

    Early morning, proceed for a Jeep Safari at Western range of Kaziranga National Park. After the safari, head back to hotel and check out after breakfast. Head back to Guwahati airport.
